Advanced Research for Manufacturing Systems Laboratory

Welcome to the ARMS Laboratory at the University of California, Davis.

Founded in 2013 by Professor Masakazu Soshi in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, the ARMS Lab advances manufacturing science and technology through research, education, and collaboration.

Our research focuses on advanced manufacturing technologies, CNC machine tool design and applications, machining process analysis and development, and additive manufacturing. We work closely with industry and academic collaborators to address practical manufacturing challenges while developing new knowledge, technologies, and methods for the future of manufacturing.

The ARMS Lab is also committed to providing students and researchers with hands-on experience, access to advanced manufacturing equipment, and opportunities to work on meaningful real-world problems.
